Obituary for Rita JoAnne Walraven Bush

In loving Memory
Rita JoAnne Walraven Bush
November 8, 1945 - April 8, 2017

Rita JoAnne Walraven Bush was born November 8, 1945, in Great Bend, Kansas, and passed away peacefully at home in Walla Walla, Washington Surround by her loved ones on April 8th 2017.
Rita graduated from Union College with a Bachelor of Social Work degree and received her master of Social Work degree at Walla Walla University before establishing a private counseling practice in Walla Walla with highest honors.
A devout Seventh-day Adventist, Rita ministered alongside her husband for 20 years during his tenure as a pastor. Although she was known for her generous hospitality to others, at the center of her life was her family-her four children, seven grandchildren and husband of 50 years.
While her love for adventure, compassion and ability to create memorable moments for others were hallmarks of her life, her biggest legacy was her advocacy work and her devotion to God and to her family.
Rita is survived by her husband, Don Bush; children Katrina and Morre Dean, Trisha and Dave LeFore, Francesca and Theresa Bush-Dryden, and Donny and Tamara Bush: grandchildren Tyler and Jill Dean, Benjamin and Esmirna Bush, and Donara, Marcus and Kaleb Bush; and sisters Janet Walraven and Ramona Sue Evans; and nieces and nephews Lisa, Courtney and Matthew; and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Sadina Walraven, Aunts Bea Schmidt and Amelia Heinrich, and her half brother, Lawson Walraven.
A Graveside service will be held Sunday, April 16, 2017 at 11:30 A.M. at the MT. Hope Cemetery, College Place, WA. Memorial contributions in her memory may be directed to the Walla Walla Community Hospice, and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
