Obituary for Barbara "Barb" A. Guth

Barbara A. Guth, 57 of College Place passed away peacefully at home with her loving family at her side after a long-fought battle with cancer on Saturday, August 24, 2019.
A memorial service will be Sunday, September 8th at 10 am at Walla Walla University SDA Church Fellowship Hall. 212 SW 4th St, College Place WA 99324.
Barb was born in Hermiston, Oregon March 26, 1962. She was adopted by Wanda G. and King T. Hooper II. She attended Sandia View Elementary and Crestview High school in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She received her degree in Computer science from Walla Walla College, College Pace WA.
Barb met Gerald (Jerry) Guth while at Walla Walla College. They married June 18, 1982. They had two children, Ronley and Kayla. Numerous furry pets joined the family over the years. They have lived in College Place for 33 years.
Barb enjoyed spending time camping and traveling with her family, reading, cheering on the Seahawks , riding ATV vehicles in the Blues and sand dunes, and walking with her dogs. She spent a week this year traveling to Albuquerque to visit places from the past with her son, Ronley and his wife Kristi, and her two grandsons, Garrett and Nolan. Barb traveled to Germany for several cancer treatments. Her daughter Kayla was able to go with her and they had a wonderful time touring and making memories.
She was involved with Pathfinder youth group at the Walla Walla City SDA Church while her kids were young. They took many trips with the club, one being the International Pathfinder Camporee in Oshkosh, Wisconsin twice.
Her work endeavors took her to College Place Laundry and Bindery through Walla Walla College. She worked for Family Medical Center, Walla Walla General Hospital, Walla Walla Clinic and her last 15+ years have been at Key Technology in a variety of positions but worked herself into the supervisory position for Order Entry. Her work at Key took her on her first trip abroad to the Netherlands and Holland.
Barb is survived by her husband Gerald (Jerry), son Ronley (Kristi) Guth of Vancouver WA, daughter Kayla Guth of Milwaukee, OR as well as two grandsons, Garrett and Nolan. Barb also leaves behind many loved extended family members and a wealth of friends. She was dearly loved by all and will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her parents King T & Wanda G Hooper, and her brother Thomas K Hooper.
