Obituary for Donald "Moose" K. Larson Sr.

In Loving Memory
Donald “Moose” K. Larson Sr.
January 4, 1947 - February 16, 2020

Donald K. Larson Sr., 73, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home. Cremation is entrusted to Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, there will be no service at his request.

Don was born to Oly and Christine (Gammelguard) Larson in Medford, OR, on January 4, 1947. He served in the US Navy during Vietnam as an airplane Hydraulic Mechanic. After getting out of the Navy, Don married Jeannie Cardwell on June 14, 1969 in Moscow, ID. Don moved to Walla Walla and went to work for Jones Scott in 1973, staying on after it was purchased by Koncrete Industries. He delivered concrete all over the Walla Walla valley for almost 40 years. Retiring in 2011. He could remember every place he poured concrete or laid gravel. It was common for him to be stopped while shopping by contractors or homeowners to chat.

Don enjoyed Nascar and was excited to go to few races thanks to KI. In his younger years he enjoyed taking his family camping or to the river and whitewater rafting with coworkers. In his retirement he enjoyed wood working and making whirly birds.

As Don battled cancer for 4 ½ years his family, friends & co-workers showered him with love and support as he went through treatment. While I can’t list all I would like to give a special thanks to RJ Smith, Aaron Larson, Juan Sanchez, Dave Konen and Lorraine Morkert. Your love and support is what kept him smiling.

Don is survived by two daughters; Darcy L. (Gorton) Hill, Lyannae R. Larson, two sons; Donald K. Larson Jr., Ronald O. Larson, a sister, Lorraine C. (Larson) Morkert, a brother, Ronald O. Larson, five grandchildren, and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
