Obituary for Evis G. Olson

Evis G Olson
Evis, 93, 1231 S 2nd Ave entered into her rest June 30 while surrounded by family. Mrs Olson was born June 11, 1926 in New Brunswick, NE to Clarence and Rosina Warren Graham. She attended grade and high school through 10th grade in Lincoln Valley, ND. She met the love of her life David H Olson, and they were married on Dec 24, 1942. They owned a farm near Fortuna, ND and retired to the Walla Walla, WA area in 1979. She loved her family and her church. She was a longtime member of the Seventh day Adventist Church.
With her family raised, she went back to school and graduated the LPN course with her daughter Jean. They were a competitive pair taking turns at 1st and 2nd place at the top of the class. She felt she never lived before working at the old General Hospital. She loved the work and helping the people she met; she never knew a stranger and was a warm, kind and gentle soul. It was a sad day when an injury cut short the career she had worked so hard for.
Surviving are her children: four daughters, Jean Base (David) of Prescott, WA, KoKo Olson Campbell (Billy) of Jasper, TN, Lynae Martin (Dave) of Spokane, WA, Debra Fahey (Rick) Of Yakima, WA, three sons, JW Olson (Hazel), David Olson all of Walla Walla, WA, Rick Olson (Cindy) of Vancouver, WA, her sister, Clarice Holm of Hartington, NE, 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, David H Olson, a brother Gordon Graham, and a granddaughter Charity Olson.
The family will plan a celebration of life at a future date. The family would also like to thank everyone for their kindness & support on her journey, especially Dr. Barga, Wheatland Assisted Living, Parkview Memory Care, and the Walla Walla Community Hospice.
Friends and family may share memories and sign her online guestbook at www.mountainview-colonialdewitt.com
