March 13, 1941 - March 1, 2019

Walt E. Gould, 77, passed away March 1, 2019 at his home in Walla Walla. Viewing will be Friday, March 15, 2019 from 9:00am to 5:00pm at Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt Funeral Home, 1551 The Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla, WA 99362. His Funeral will be Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 11:00am at the funeral home with a Graveside Service to follow at the Wallula Cemetery. Friends are welcome to join a luncheon following the graveside back at the funeral home.
Walt was born in Haddam, Kansas on March 13, 1941 to Harlan Gould and Nina Simmons. Walt gradated high school in Eloy, Arizona and then enlisted in the Army National Guard. Walt married his first wife Mary Highland in 1961 and they were married for 37 years. For his career, Walt worked for the Department of Corrections in Florence, Arizona, he was a service station mechanic, and then he worked for Boise Cascade from 1964 until his retirement in 1996. In 1998 Walt married F. Marie Gould on December 12; they were married until her passing in 2018.
Walt enjoyed working with his hands. He was a master craftsman and millwright, he also excelled in carpentry and home remodels. Walt also liked to hunt, fish, and go camping with the family. You could also find him tending to his yard and canning the vegetables from his garden. But above all, Walt loved to going to his grandchildren’s sporting events and school functions.
Walt is survived by his daughter, Tammy Gould, step daughters; Diana Holden, Teresa Stocker, Erika Lundberg, son, David Gould, his brother, Russell Gould, grandchildren; Hunter and Fisher Pauley, Jeremy Holden, Lori and Chase Gravelie, Becky Ramage, Kelsey, Emily, and Ethan Battrick, Shelby Gould, and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Marie Gould, his parents, two sisters, and three brothers.
